I grew up with Books my entire life. I only had books and TV to entertain myself as a kid. Xbox, Computers and the Internet didn't exist that far back. Today's kids are spending too much time with video games and not enough time in reading. My parents instilled in me the joy and passion of reading, and letting my imagination fill in the blanks. I read everything I could get my hands on... from Disney books to books on the paranormal that were in my parent's library. They had a very unusual library that was quite unique at the time...
I have too many authors that I like, but the main Sci-fi authors would be Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, and hundreds of others. Non-fiction writers would be Joe Vitale, Sylvia Browne, Neale Donald Walsch, Napoleon Hill. I also read the writings of many researchers ancient and modern. Fascinated with all subjects from History, Science, Religion, Philosophy, Nature, Computers, Technology, etc.
