I must read to survive Hello, I'm a SWM, 47. A confessed Book-aholic. Without something decent to read every morning, I find myself at wits end. Addiction? You betcha, but it could be worse. I read a bit of everything, from history, to historical fiction, to great fiction writers, to science and other non-fiction to cheesy mysteries to true-life accounts of mountain climbs, the history of numbers to the short stories of Poe.
Ok, Favorites: 'Sometimes A Great Notion' by Ken Kesey, 'I, Claudius' by Robert Graves; 'Into Thin Air' by Jon Krakauer; 'At Play In The Fields Of The Lord' by Peter Matthiessen, JD Salinger, esp: 'Nine Stories' 'Raise High the Roofbeam/Seymour an Introduction' 'Frannie and Zooey'; 'In Cold Blood' and many others by Truman Capote and...
and... so many more.
The point here is that I would just love to meet a woman--for friendship or otherwise--who would like to share book ideas, read favorite passages--I'll Listen!-- and basically get together to jabber about books. Sound Like fun?
