A good book will transport the reader Ever since I was very little, I've used books as a means of escaping from the situation around me. as a child my parents arguements were drowned out by Mark Twain and Charles d---ens.

WhenI ran away from home I hid in the reference library, I kid you not! The written word has and still stirs passions and emotions in me, as well as keeping my brain working.

A good book is preferable to any TV programme. I surround myself with books and never travel without one in my bag... Yes, I know a Kindle is easier but, it doesn't smell or feel the same.

I sometimes imagine lying on my death bed saying to the grim reaper, just one more chapter, please!
