I am on a road of self-discovery. I know that sounds like a tired phrase and so over used that it is sad, but when you are in that era of your life, it feels like the most essential part of living is tangled up in this seeking of truth about ones self. I am enjoying that! It is real, not tied to money or other peoples needs, and I am discovering love, relaxation, joy, and pleasure at the most basic level of existence, almost as a primal urge. Jon Katz says that animal reflect who we are, not necessarily what or who the animal is. They act like a mirror of our souls. If they act neurotic, then we must look to ourselves and ask what we are doing to cause them to feel that way. Alternatively, we can look to them for these simple needs - pleasure, relaxation and so on. They have it down and we just need to watch and pay attention to figure out how to untangle the societal blanket that covers these essential needs up with the drive to buy things or be more like someone else, color our hair, get better clothes so we look thinner. I know I have a thin skin and these pressures can easily influence me because of my sensitivity. That is why I choose what I read or watch carefully. I carefully select the people who influence my life - my friends and family! I hope that this site helps you think and enjoy life just a little more, too! Love to all.
